Sony STR DA 5400 ES top of the range Sony receiver selling for 2000 pounds until discontinued. I became aware of its magic quite late, so was only able to get hold of it second hand as display model. It has won many awards when launched and these are hard to come by on sale even now I had bought it as display model Please note that it's HDMI will not work with PS3 and newer HDMI HDTV's Recently I have been using it with optical and coaxial inputs from PS3, Bluray player and TV It has fantastic sound qualities and will play all types of current Blue ray and /or surround sounds formats As an amplifier purely for music it is just great. It was one of those home cinema amplifiers by Sony which has a twin Super Audio CD player SCD 5400ES which is reportedly the best CD player considered by many. This amplifier has a dedicated audio HDMI (HDMI input number 5). This amplifier has HATS for better/enhanced audio output over HDMI. It is extremely capable as stereo amplifier let alone being a brilliant home cinema amplifier. Reason for Sale going to one box solution for home cinema as the whole current system is too big now for my needs
